One Venezuelan beauty queen goes on a radical journey of self-discovery as she prepares for the all-important Miss Universe competition. Andrea Spisto uses a combination of character comedy, extravagant costume, hip-hop influences and high-octane clowning to tear apart ideals of pristine beauty and propriety. A gender-bending discovery of what being a beauty queen really means and what happens when we decide to be our own interstellar heroes.
Miss Venezuela is a passionate rebellion against perfect womanhood which ignites into a celebration of love and power and the destruction of machismo culture.
"The clowning, dancing and singing are all superb"
